After consultation, imaging (mammography, ultrasound or MRI), and a confirmatory biopsy, your oncoplastic breast surgeon plans the technique through the multidisciplinary tumour board.
Step 2Surgical Planning & Marking
Pre-operative markings are done in standing position to plan the excision, the reshaping pattern, and (if needed) contralateral symmetrisation.
Step 3Oncoplastic Surgery
The tumour is excised with a clear rim of tissue, the defect is either reshaped from the remaining breast (displacement) or filled with a local perforator flap (replacement), and closure is done in layers with a drain.
